CIIP Trip to China Updates
May 20, 2010
The purpose of this trip was to gather data for the evaluation of Canadian Immigration Integration Program (CIIP) project. CIIP is a new model to aid immigrant integration for federal skilled workers who are in the process of immigrating to Canada. The project is funded by the Government of Canada and managed by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC). CIIP pre-arrival services are offered in three locations oversees: China, India and The Philippines. The objective of the evaluation of the CIIP is to assess the project rationale, effectiveness, efficiency, results, key success factors, lessons learned and achievements. For more information about this project, click here.
Data gathering for the CIIP evaluation involves field visits in each of the international site with the first trip being in China. To enhance the richness of the data gathered in the field, diverse tools including key informant interviews, surveys and participant observation were utilized.
More CIIP international trip updates will
follow, after the data gathering in the other two sites, India
and The Philippines, will be completed.
