10th Annual Helmut Braun Scholarship Award Celebration

Please join us on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 12-1 for the awards ceremony and lunch. You'll have a chance to meet this year's recipient and mingle wih other active Waterloo Region community members.  Keynote speaker, Glenn Cartwright, Principal of Renison University College, will speak about psychology, socioeconomic struggle and hope in adult education. And, you can contribute to reimagining the future of this unique scholarship.

This award was established in 2001, in memory of Helmut Braun, a local social activist, community researcher and an advocate for the rights of people with mental health and other life struggles.  Students who live in Waterloo Region, who have been accepted into a post-secondary program in the areas of social justice; peace and conflict resolution; community development; cross-cultural issues and community research and social change are eligible to apply.  The need for financial assistance must be demonstrated, as well as a vision for how their education will be used.
