Helmut Braun Memorial Post-secondary Award
Students who live in the Waterloo region, and who have been accepted into a post-secondary program in the areas of social justice, peace and conflict resolution; community development; cross-cultural issues and community research and social change may apply. The need for financial assistance must be demonstrated as well as a vision for how their education will be used.
This award was established in 2001 in memory of Helmut Braun, a local social activist, community researcher and an advocate for the rights of people with mental health and other life struggles. Chinese Post-secondary Education AwardStudents of Chinese heritage and with a primary residence in Waterloo Region, Wellington County or the City of Guelph are invited to apply. As well, applicants must have graduated from high school in the year of application and be accepted into a post-secondary program at a Canadian university. As part of the application process, students must demonstrate a vision for how their education will enable them to contribute to Canadian society.
