CCBR Announces Two New IRCC-Funded Projects in Waterloo Region

Jan 16, 2017

CCBR is pleased to announce two new projects that we will lead in the Waterloo Region, both funded by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. One project will explore the barriers (and successes) faced by local Syrian caregivers - who stay at home with their children - and Syrian seniors. The second project will explore barriers experienced by Syrian youth. Each project will follow a community-based research approach, meaning CCBR will work with several local organizations as well as members of the Syrian community to design the project, gather information, and mobilize the findings. Syrian caregivers and youth will be hired as Community Researchers and be actively involved throughout the research process.  We look forward to diving into these projects and exploring the unique challenges faced by our newest community members, and how Waterloo Region can help to address them.
