Creating a better future for communities through research

The Team

Committed staff bring alive the vision of the Centre for Community Based Research. For each project we develop a unique project team, bringing together the necessary skills and passions for the task at hand. Teams are made up of a mix of core staff, community researchers, other contract staff and students. In total, we are about 5-10 people depending on our project requirements.

Community Researchers

Whenever possible, CCBR hires, trains and supports community researchers to join the growing network of community based researchers. Community researchers are people who live the issue under study. They bring their valuable experiential knowledge and community connections. Involving community researchers demonstrates CCBR's commitment to social justice --providing employment and training to people at the heart of the matter.

CCBR Associates

Former Staff and Volunteers

Since 1982, over 200 staff, students and interns have contributed to the work of CCBR. We are grateful for the contributions of these CCBR alumni. They have helped created a more just society through the power of research and community.

Please read about one of our former volunteers, Karen Lord, here.

If you are a CCBR alumni we would love to hear from you.  Please write us and let us know how you are doing:  mailto:general@communitybasedresearch.ca.

CCBR came into being in 1982 and has had many staff, students and volunteers make significant contributions to our organization.
