Introduction to our CURA

Taking Culture Seriously was a five year research program that brought together a variety of university and community partners in Toronto and Waterloo Region. These partners have explored how best to provide community-based mental health supports that are effective within multicultural Canada. The study began in 2005 and is closing in 2010.

This website will be maintained as a source of information about our study, our articles, presentations and events, and about related initiatives (see related links). The program is funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) (as part of its Community University Research Alliance program) and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Theatre as a mechanism for knowledge mobilization

Taking Culture Seriously in Community Mental Heatlh CURA partners commissioned a theatre performance based on the CURA research findings.
