CCBR is happy to celebrate with Janna Martin (PhD candidate), who was recently awarded the SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council) Canadian Graduate Scholarship. Janna has been a researcher at CCBR for over 5 years. She began as a full-time researcher in 2018, and is now part-time while pursuing her PhD at University of Guelph in Social Practice and Transformational Change. Janna works on a variety of research and evaluation projects, with a particular interest in equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization. Her doctoral research aims to unsettle Swiss-Mennonites narratives in Ontario through braiding Indigenous and Mennonite historiography, to co-create a decolonial public history that recognizes
Indigenous sovereignty.
