Diversity Works: The Supported Employment Experiences of BIPOC Job Seekers Who Experience Disability

Diversity Works aims to explore the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour who experience disability (BIPOC-D) as they navigate their employment journey with the assistance of supported employment service providers.

The Centre for Community-based Research (CCBR) and the Canadian Association of Supported Employment (CASE) will work collaboratively to meaningfully engage BIPOC-D job seekers in a sequential research design that will include a national survey, focus groups, in-depth interviews and photovoice.

The findings from this study will aim to capture: 1) the experiences of BIPOC jobseekers who experience disability; 2) the strengths and challenges faced by employment service providers who assist BIPOC jobseekers who experience disability; and 3) the experiences of employers as they strive to diversity their staff.
