Regional Accountability Models for Settlement in Peel Region

The project asks the question, "What might settlement funding and governance look like if there was regional-level disbursement and accountability in Peel?"

The Peel Newcomer Strategy Group (PNSG) was invited by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to facilitate this process in partnership with the Centre for Community-Based Research (CCBR). Together, we will conduct an environmental scan to identify existing settlement funding and governance models, followed by an extensive community consultation process to develop a Peel-specific model for governing settlement funding.

Initiated and funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as part of the Service Delivery Improvement stream, this project involves multiple phases of research and consultation with stakeholders. The community consultation process will include: 1) stakeholder engagement via a Steering Committee; 2) three participatory community forums; 3) sector survey; and 4) service provider focus groups.
